Whole system health, the focus of Rethinking Health Matters with Linda Sechrist, addresses a variety of subjects on healthy lifestyle beyond prevention and wellness. To learn how individuals can be healthy and flourish within a vital community, the show investigates how the areas of finance and socially responsible investing, spiritual well-being, culture and education, land and nature stewardship, renewable energy, technology, community and governance, as well as the natural and built environments affect the health of the individual.

On January 3, filmmaker Katie Teague will talk about her inspiring documentary, Money and Life, which asks a provocative question: Rather than viewing the economic crisis as disastrous, can we view it as opportunities to shift our thoughts about money and thereby improve models of economic exchange?

An in-depth psychotherapist familiar with observing humanity, Katie uses the simple lens of storytelling to chronicle the complexity of money and economics. Her language of metaphors and analogies helps laypeople better recognize and understand convoluted economic concepts. As a therapist, she repeatedly sees how disconnections, due to eroding relationships with ourselves, our natural world and each other, are wreaking havoc on people and the planet.

Tune in from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., or download the show at your convenience, to hear how the core principle of the economy, money and currency is relationship itself and how we’ve unwittingly disempowered ourselves by entrusting too much power to middlemen like central banks and financial consultants, but are now realizing that we don’t need them.

An additional guest is Sharon Joy Kleitsch, founder of the Connection Partners, who is hosting Katie Teague in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area later this month.
