Tikina Simmons discusses the importance of mentoring

Most of us can think back to the one person who had an impact in our lives.  It may have been a family member, teacher or family friend but for most of us, we can pinpoint that person who we looked up to and said, "I want to be like him/her."

This is why mentoring in our communities is so important.  Not all children and young adults have those types of role models at home and we all know that celebrities do not always exhibit the best behaviors for our young people to emmulate.
