Testing Tomorrrow's Automated Vehicles Today at CAAT Conference 2018

Detroit is well known as the Motor City and the heart of the American automotive industry.  Today, this industry is experiencing a revolution that will drive the future of mobility in new directions as transportation technologies evolve in ways that would have been hard to imagine just a few years ago. And once again, Michigan is leading the way.

These advances in technology-driven innovation require us to explore the changing landscape of mobility and consider the new and unique challenges of testing of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs). One area to explore is physical  testing. Will traditional physical testing take a back seat to cutting-edge computerized simulation testing with its promise of bringing the future to us sooner with greater safety and less expense?

The annual CAAT Conference, this year focused on "Testing Tomorrow's Autonomous Vehicles Today", will explore how automakers are looking at the future of mobility and testing vehicles for an endless array of possible driving scenarios, and how technical training will need to adapt and change.
