Our guest this week will be Awkword, whose latest release, "World View" took 5 years to complete, is 100% dedicated to charity, has top notch features and speaks on a variety of substantial topics. Awkword will join us to discuss this project, and the current state of hip hop activism.

Also: We'll talk to the organizers of the yearly Momma's Hip Hop Kitchen: Volume 7 - Celebrating Sisterhood, a fantastic event happening Saturday, March 1 in the Bronx.

Also: 50 Cent made news by exiting his major label situation at Interscope. Music execs like Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles are starting new media music ventures. These are examples of the drastic changes in the music business, but we wonder, can new industry be created by old industry heads? This discussion will interest artists and fans, and we'll welcome your thoughts, live, so call in!

Lastly, a slew of releases by a variety of NY-area artists this week really showcase the diversity of the city's hip hop musical landscape. We'll be discussing some of them.

The NY Hip Hop Report is a weekly talk show, featuring discussion regarding relevant New York hip hop topics, interviews with artists and other industry professionals and invites live caller participation. The program, started in 2012 by Birthplace Magazine founder Manny Faces, has included interviews with iconic figures such as Big Daddy Kane and Video Music Box’s Ralph McDaniels, as well as special shows, including an April, 2013 broadcast live from the 10th annual L’Original Festival, a yearly international hip hop festival in Lyon, France.
