We will return to our End Times topic June 28th. Today's show will discuss the importance of having our fathers in our lives and the effects of not having them around. A great father is supportive, invested, gentle yet firm, and loving towards his child/children. A father also challenges his child/children to become better, protects them, prepares them for the real world, and shows them that they are valuable so they're not seeking love and validation from other people or things. Some of us may have had dads who neglected or abused us, or they simply didn't want to deal with the responsibility of raising a child. As a result, we don't know what a father's love feels like and it may cause us to hate ourselves, hate men, seek approval from our peers, or look for things to fill us up--drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, etc. Psalm 27:10 says that, "When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up." God will take care of us and protect us even if our biological parents are not in our lives! He can be the father that we've never had and always longed for.
