Learning How to Love Others

Mark 12:31 tells us to "Love our neighbor as yourself." The Bible also tells us that we should love and pray for our enemies (Matthew 5:44) but loving others isn't always easy, esspecially when other people are different than us, ridicule us, lie on us, betray us, take advanatge of us, etc. Loving others may even seem foolish to some people--"How can you not hate them after what they did to you? Are you a glutton for punishment?!" Loving and forgiving others doesn't mean that you are condoning that's person's actions; you are simply not allowing that person's actions or character to affect you. God continues to love us in spite of the things we do but He wants us to change and He doesn't  want us to keep holding onto bitterness when He tols us to cast our cares on Him.
