I'm so excited to talk to the one, the only, Stephen Ramsden with the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project! If you don't know who Stephen is, well, he is simply the hardest working amateur astronomer that I know of. Since 2007, he has helped promote Solar astronomy by offering presentations and live telescope views of our closest star at over 70 events a year. It is estimated that 50,000 (FIFTY THOUSAND!) PER YEAR have participated in Stephen's outreach events! Stephen estimates that by the end of 2012, they will reach 300,000 for just this year alone!! Wow!

We'll talk about the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project, its roots, how he got involved with astronomy, his passion for outreach and Solar observing, some equipment discussions, upcoming Solar events, and of course some of his great stories of outreach. You can't miss this episode!  This special episode will be Tuesday, May 22nd at 4pm CST (5pm EST).
