In commemoration of World Lymphoma Awareness Day (Sept. 15), this Special Monday Edition of Battling And Beating Cancer is the first of its kind “International Radio/Internet Forum On Lymphoma.”  An internationally renowned lymphoma doctor and patient advocate organizations from across the globe come together to discuss issues of importance to patients battling lymphoma – including awareness, treatments, and other issues. Your hosts Charlene McMann and Scott Seaman (co-founders of Chicago Blood Cancer Foundation) will be joined on this internet lymphoma extravaganza by Dr. Joseph M. Connors, Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology at the University of British Columbia and Chair of the Lymphoma Tumor Group for the British Columbia Cancer Agency. Also joining us are Karen Van Rassel (Lymphoma Coalition), Sue Robson (Lymphoma Foundation Canada), and Pru Etcheverry (Leukaemia & Blood Foundation of New Zealand).  Patients from across the globe are invited to listen and participate on our live interactive chat room.  World Lymphoma Awareness Day (WLAD), created by the Lymphoma Coalition, takes place on September 15. September also is National Blood Cancer Awareness Month in the United States. The Lymphoma Coalition is a global network of worldwide not-for-profit lymphoma patient organizations with a vision of working together to free the world of lymphomas. An estimated 1 million people are living with lymphoma worldwide. Yet, the disease remains under-publicized and underfunded.  We are working to change that as we mark WLAD on Battling and Beating Cancer!
