Apollo Theater's Super Top Dog Winner for 2017, "Michelle Brooks-Thompson" is an Indie Gospel Recording Artist from Springfield, Massachusetts. Michelle has been singing since the young age of 5. She was recognized and claimed by all as a “child prodigy” because of her ability to sing, play the piano and direct choirs by age 9. As she continued to grow and develop into a unique & powerful vocalist, she blew the minds of every one who heard her sing. Over the years Michelle’s tone and vocal power has been frequently compared to the late musical icon, Whitney Houston. She has been often referred to as the “Whitney Houston of Gospel music”.  In 2006 she received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Music and was accepted into Boston’s Berklee College of Music, as a candidate for the well-known and respected Performance Diploma Program. Michelle chose to pursue her next steps in music independently and deferred her acceptance to Berklee. Since that time she has crafted and defined her singing ability which can undeniably be ranked with some of the major Gospel and secular artists of her time! In 2012, Michelle was given a private audition for season 3 of the hit TV show, NBC's the Voice , where she ultimately became a finalist after three of the four celebrity judges’ chairs turned around to choose her. Michelle joined the team of Adam Levine and was quoted by her coach as one who he never had to coach & who was amazing every time she performed! This opportunity introduced Michelle into the music industry on a major platform. Since then she has gained abundant recognition and praise for what some call a "supernatural singing ability". Michelle has become known to many and highly respected because of her unique vocal sound, style and anointing. She also wears the hat of a composer, pianist and songwriter.
