When it comes to writing fiction it comes down to the choice of matter.

As a fiction writer your primary task is to select a theme. This is should be a rather simple task, unless cursed with a rareness of observation or barrenness of imagination, in which case you have chosen the wrong calling.

But we’ll proceed ahead as if you have chosen the proper calling and in this edition I'll go over the task of selection the writer must bear in mind and the several considerations all writers must face.
