Oftentimes in a relationship love is confused with abuse. Yes, right after the blow to the face with a fist, or a kick in the stomach, or a shove against the wall, the words, "I'm sorry, but I love you..." come somewhere around that time. And so the victim is left feeling desolate, guilty if you will, that they've done something to cause the abuse. Love is tricky when it comes to relationships.
