Dr. Rick Boulay is the founder of the Catherine Boulay Foundation that focuses on cancer survivorship. It is said that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single footstep. Dr. Boulay supports cancer patients and their families. His organization and his career in  Gynecologic Oncology provides cancer survivors and their caregivers with information on day-to-day living with...and beyond cancer. All aspects of our lives—medical, social, spiritual, wellness, emotional, and many others—change drastically with a diagnosis of cancer and need to be addressed. Accurate, practical, accessible, and easy-to-understand language is the key to this mission. One of our goals is to help cancer patients, caregivers, and survivors to connect with one another—to share their wisdom, joys, and concerns, and in doing so, to grow stronger and healthier individually and collectively.

The Catherine Boulay Foundation was founded in 2007 by Dr. Richard (Rick) Boulay and his wife, Julie Bolton, in honor of Rick's grandmother, Catherine, who passed away from cancer when he was young. As a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization, the foundation's mission is to support the journey through cancer...and beyond. The cancer journey is not limited to patients, but one that caregivers and families must make as well.

When people think of cancer, they tend to focus on the diagnosis and treatment; but the journey is so much more than that. While early detection, prevention, and treatment are important, cancer survivors face numerous physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and financial issues well past diagnosis and treatment. A primary goal of the Catherine Boulay Foundation and the web site is to address those issues for patients, caregivers, and families. www.catherineboulayfoundation.org
