September 10: The NFL's Watergate

Once again, the fun has been sucked from sports. The NFL new season is under way and the games seem meaningless. In a twist of epic asinine proportions, new revelations in the Ray Rice domestic violence scandal have surfaced.  

Mike "the Buzz-saw" Asti and George "the Howitzer" Gerbo usually appreciate the off the field asinine topics. This is just too much. 

Ray Rice went from sitting out only two games to being released by the Baltimore Ravens and suspended indefinitely by the NFL, all thanks to TMZ. Outlets like TMZ and Deadspin have been proved to rule the world. If TMZ could obtain the video of Ray Rice knocking out his then fiance Janay Palmer, how are we supposed to believe the mighty National Football League could not? If TMZ never made this video public, would Ray Rice be starting in week three? Is Roger Goodell lying about having not seen the video months ago? How could the NFL and the Ravens have handled this whole situation better? Mike rants that Roger Goodell is either a negligent moron or a scum liar. Which do you believe....? While George can't imagine someone would be so evil and careless, he's leaning towards joining Mike's world of Hell, fire, and brimstone. 

Oh yeah, the NFL season has kicked off. We adavnce towards week two in the annual HBS NFL Pick'em Challenge. Can anything be made of all the upsets? Are perennial contenders, New England, Green Bay, and New Orleans already in must wins? 

Shockingly baseball is bringing a sense of normalcy. There's just a few weeks left of the season, but the pennant race is far from over. Who will claim the final NL and AL Wild Card spots? Are the Royals going to hang around and steal a division title from Detroit? Have the Pirates managed to crawl into the playoffs? Did Adam Dunn curse the A's?
