In 2017 Ron met artist Rickey Combs who recorded the song Jesus and Garth Brooks written by Speaks. The song ultimately stayed on one independent chart in the top 10 on WAAK Blackdog Morning Show for 26 weeks. Rickey also took the song, Jesus and Garth Brooks to #1 on the www.radiowoxs.org weekly Top 10 countdown in Australia. The song was nominated for Song of The Year in the Traditional Classic Country category at the 2018 Josie Music. Awards as well.

Speaks currently has a song I Think I Need Your Help, recorded by Terry Douglas is also having success. It finished out last week on the Blackdog Indie Country Radio Weekly Top 20 Countdown at #3 and on the Countrybarnyard 305 Weekly Most Requested chart at #9. It has also had FM plays on Ohio's T-100 FM, and has over 1,200 plays on Spotify.

Ron Speaks also has a current solo recording project being produced by Bobby Gregory, who also produced Jesus and Garth Brooks. This project has already yielded Speaks two Top 10 singles. This Is Me, Speaks’ debut solo single and title track of the upcoming EP, spent several weeks on the Blackdog Morning Show, Countrybarnyard 305, and radiowoxs.org in Top 10 positions.

Speaks’ EP This Is Me is on schedule to be finished sometime this summer. Meanwhile, we will continue to release singles as they are completed. The current single, Til I Do Somethin' Stupid is a rowdy up-tempo bar band anthem that has been widely received.

Currently, Ron has an entry in the prestigious NPR Tiny Desk Contest, which is put on by National Public Radio and judged by some of the most notable folks in the music industry.
