Rob O’Mara was born during the cold winter of 1965 in Jersey City, NJ. He was raised on 60s & 70s AM Pop Radio and some fierce blue color love. At the age of 12 he stumbled upon a bass guitar in the local music store and was thunderstruck. Money was tight -yet, somehow Rob’s dad managed to purchase that guitar and amp for him.

By the age of 14, Rob was playing biker bars, clubs and any other gig he could land. Since the age of thirteen, he had been writing his own songs and was eager to perform them. The fire was lit for becoming a songwriter.  Soon after, his band would be signed to NJ Record Label Broccoli Rabe Records.

Since 2008, O’Mara recorded and released his own CD Songs from the Rafters with Producer Joe Kurasz. Also, Rob has composed songs and lyrics for TV, Film, Artists, Publishers, Producers and Music Supervisors. He is currently working with Visionary Music Group (Universal Music, Warner Chappell Music) bringing a poetic lyrical element & melodic grace to the team.

This year Rob O’Mara’s new 3 song EP Americana was released on all digital platforms. Also, he was recently honored to receive a World Songwriting Award for Best Modern Country Song for his tune, Hold Me Down

The Aquarian spoke of Rob’s writing as, Credible. Talented. And way beyond most artists…

New York FM Rock Radio DJ Carol Miller spoke of Rob’s lyric writing as, Heavy and very moving… on Air at WNEW-NY FM Radio

Legendary Rock n’ Roll Manager Bill Aucoin (Kiss, Billy Idol & Billy Squire), proclaimed himself to be Rob’s Biggest Fan and mentored O’Mara to write for TV and Film, as well.
