Today's Interview is with Tonya Lamia, the President of the Schaumburg Business Association.

As President of the Schaumburg Business Association, Tonya is responsible for executing the SBA’s strategic direction and for the organization’s overall operations.  In addition, she represents the SBA on the Illinois Development Council Board of Directors, Village of Schaumburg Business Development Commission, Roosevelt University Community Advisory Board, Schaumburg Transit Service Assessment Steering Committee, Pension Fairness for Illinois Communities Coalition, and School District 54 Key Communicator Network. 

Prior to joining the SBA in April 2010, Tonya led a $7.5 Million capital campaign in support of a five-year strategic plan for the Rockford Area Economic Development Council. She was named one of "Forty Leaders Under Forty” in 2009 for her leadership in economic development and on community boards, including the Attracting & Retaining Talent to the Rockford Area Steering Committee, Pilgrim’s Promise Community Development Corporation, Next Rockford, and River District Association. Tonya also worked as Director of Sales & Marketing for Centre Events, Promotions Director for RadioWorks, and Communications Director for the Council of 100.
