Interview with MPI - CAC President Char Shada, CMP

For more than 15 years, Char Shada has excelled within the hospitality industry, where she has accumulated expertise planning meetings, events, and tradeshows for corporations as well as within hotels and restaurants. Her philosophy and work ethic reflects a simple but powerful premise: every event should be a memorable experience for the attendees and should reflect positively on the event’s host. Her clients benefit from her meticulous and comprehensive planning, organizing and execution of the plan, and her consistent pursuit of perfection.  It is only fitting that she is a valuable part of the Experient organization, where “Perfecting the Event Experience” is one of the company’s daily missions.

Her commitment to the industry extends to its premiere organization, and largest chapter of the 24,000 member Meeting Professionals International Association. As a member of the Chicago Area Chapter (MPI-CAC) since 2001, Char begins her seventh year on the board of directors as the President for the chapter’s 1,200+ members.  Her efforts and achievements have been recognized, most recently with the “President’s Award” and in the past, she was nominated as a “Rising Star” and “Planner of the Year.”
