Mina Samuels

The world of inspirational aspiration is filled with people who will tell you how to aim higher, run faster and live in the moment. The problem is their advice comes from above—people who tell you how to do things, rather than do them with you. They’re about direction, not connection.

Enter Mina Samuels. Think of her as your aspirational running buddy, the person who will be at your side through the mud and the sweat and the tears. Samuels has no interest in the kind of false and shiny version of you that lives on social media. She believes that the only life worth living is an authentic life, a life that embraces the mess, the complexity and the contradictions, a life where the personal transformation comes from within. To cheer you on, whether you’re training for a race, finishing a degree, managing a career, raising a family, or rolling with life’s constant challenges, she’s written: RUN LIKE A GIRL 365 DAYS A WEEK: A Practical, Personal, Inspirational Guide for Women Athletes a daily touchstone for the competitor in all of us.

She is also a former trial lawyer and human-rights advocate,  When she's not writing, she often can be found running, cycling, swimming, cross-country skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, climbing, or doing yoga. She competes in sprint, Olympic-length, and half-ironman triathlons, marathons, and shorter-distance road races, and has participated in the Canadian Ski Marathon, a two-day, 100-mile, cross-country ski event.
