We are building an ongoing referendum and nomination system to all participating nations. We invite participation from all people from all nations and activists from all issues.
We have to stop treating candidates like celebrities and demi-gods and start treating them like the employees that they are. This is how we should approach elections too. 
Start by changing the ballot to be more efficient for the cost of running an election. Make each election a referendum on issues compiled from transparent public polls. From that, you know WHAT the election is about and can start taking applications for the various executive positions required to achieve those goals. Such a ballot would ask the voter to vote on each issue AND choose the candidate best qualified for the position to which they applied.
