The pedestrian accident lawsuit against Google, and other assorted stories

The real topic of this show is a more detailed explanation of the nature of Off the Beaten Path in Technology, but so many interesting stories have hit the technology press this week, that I can't help but do some off-the-cuff commentary. Google was sued because a pedestrian following their map was hit with a car and the latest attempt to stop the oil gusher in the Gulf of Mexico was a failure.
