Threads of Color(TOC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the fashion industry  by Celebrating the global diversity of American Fashion designers and by raising scholarship funds for deserving fashion college students.  On September 23, 2010, the Threads of Color event at the Flatotel will showcase 25 to 35 established, newly established, and emerging fashion designers.  Some of the well-known established designers who have agreed to participate  are Tracy Reese, Tommy Hilfiger, Adrienne  Landau, Carmen Marc Valvo, Edward Wilkerson of Lafayette 148, Stephen Burrows and more to come.  Adding to the mix are talented and exciting newly established and emerging designers who offer t heir own unique fashion philosophy to the industry.  Currently, the designers in the show represent 17 countries and all five continents.  Models selected for the show will also be culturally diverse.  This extraordinary happening is really the first ever fashion show geared toward raising awareness of the global diversity of American Fashion Designers. On July 29th there will be a reception by invitation, the press, Diplomats and General Consul,  fashion industry professionals, students, and corporate sponsor representatives will attend.
