Guest for N the Queue this episode is the very talented Christian Singer/Songwriter and Director Steve Taylor.
Steve has been one of the leading artists in the Christian music industry and still is, despite his not having come out with a new album in 20 years. He continues to be a big influence in the Christian community with all of his works such as I Want to be a Clone and Meltdown, which Meltdown was featured on MTV, unheard of back in those days as Christian music was not featured on that network. Steve has a knack for controversial songs and satire, one very controversial song was I Blew Up the Clinic Real Good.
Since his last album, Steve Taylor has kept busy with writing and producing. He co-wrote and directed The Second Chance with fellow Christian singer/songwriter Michael W Smith who starred in the feature film. His latest production which he directed was a movie called Blue Like Jazz, based off of the book Blue Like Jazz written by Donald Miller. A soundtrack has been released carrying the same title of the movie. He also directed a film The Second Chance which included Christian singer and actor Michael W Smith.
He also produced for bands such as Six Pence None the Richer, Newsboys, and Chevelle. He was also in the well-known band Chagall Guevarra. Stated by Rolling Stone regarding Chagall Guevara, "Not since The Clash has a group so effectively turned millitant discontent into passionate rock & roll and still maintained a sense of perspective and humor..."
