Shiloh began the CrossFit kids program at 7 years old in March of 2013 at CrossFit Free in Salem, NH, that summer he attended the Northeast Regionals and has been hooked ever since. In 2014 Shiloh began Olympic style weightlifting, with Coach Brandon Petersen, after watching the LiveFree Lifting team compete at The Atlantic States Championships. Since then he has competed on the Local and National level and earned three silver medals at the 2015 USAW Youth National Championships in Minneapolis, MN. At the 2015 East Regionals in Hartford, CT Shiloh met the people from Kettlebells4kids and was impacted by the fact that the average age of a homeless PERSON in America is 9 years old, at the time he was 9 and couldn’t fathom how that was possible. He wanted to be involved in solving this problem so we contacted Amie Turrill Owens the founder and he began helping raise funds and awareness. Last year Shiloh travelled to CrossFit Boxes in MA, NH, ME, CT & RI talking about Kettlebells4kids and getting boxes and athletes, like Spencer Hendel and Austin Malleolo to get involved. He also did several corporate presentations and other fundraising activities rasing $6,547.00. This year Shiloh has travelled outside of New England to CrossFit Boxes in TN & GA meeting with Rich Froning and Kurt Mullican. Also this year using the power of social media he has put together Team Dream Big, a group of 11 kids in CA, OR, IA, SC, PA, MA, CT, LA & FL. The goal of Team Dream Big is to spread awareness of the challenges facing America’s 2.5 million homeless kids and to raise funds to support Kettlebells4kids efforts in those states.Starting in April Shiloh will be competing in the Next Generation Games a series of eight kids CrossFit competitions in CT, MA & NJ. Last year in the inaugural year of the NGG Shiloh won first place overall and will be set to defend his title this year.
