What is ballot security?

The last decade has brought vast changes in how we cast our vote; current methods of voting involving hidden processes and programs make it increasingly difficult to discern the integrity of the vote count, whether cast as paper or electronic ballots.

Defend the Vote’s research established that the security of your vote is not assured in Illinois!

Similar security issues exist in other states as well.

When discussing ballot security, there is electronic and physical security. In Illisions in Ballot Security, Defend the Vote features an expert on each.  Bev Harris has a background in electronics security and Roger specializes in physical security.

This week, Co-hosts Bev Harris (Black Box Voting) and Sharon Meroni (Defend the Vote) welcome Roger Johnston.

Roger G. Johnston, PhD, CPP, head of the Vulnerability Assessment Team (VAT) at Argonne National Laboratory. Roger recently was in the news for research conducted on a Diebold machine.
