Join Val as she chats with independent film producer, Aaron Johnson. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Aaron got a late start in the filmmaking game at age 30 after meeting actor Chi Mcbride in 1999 and being told “It’s never too late if you have a passion for film.” Without any money to attend film school and a family to take care of, Aaron began teaching himself every aspect of filmmaking from screenwriting to editing. Over the years he has written, produced and directed commercials, music videos and documentaries for Microsoft, Ohio State University Medical Center, Boys and Girls Club, Ohio Commission on African-American Males and Sony recording artist Montrell of the gospel group Commissioned. As a screenwriter, Aaron was hired by actor/director/producer Tom Wright(Barbershop 1&2, Tales From the Hood) to develop an animation project slated for Snoop Dogg. The relationship between the two developed over the years and they now work together as script consultants developing projects for authors who want to adapt their books into films. Aaron currently resides in the Chicago suburbs and is working on new projects under his film company Night Vizion Films and enFrame Entertainment acting as a consultant to churches and their media ministries. His new vision: “Movies by the church for the church.” Aaron C. Johnson Sr, Writer/Director/Producer www.myspace.com/ohioproducer
