Jesus said to them, 'My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.'" ~ John 4:34

Your quality of life hinges on your ability to discern the difference between work and labor. That biblically discernable difference will result in either a life of freedom or enslavement, of prosperity or adversity, of accomplishment or frustration, of contentment or discontentment.

In our last segment, "The Secret To More! - Part 3: Know The Difference Between Work & Labor!," we looked at labor from God's perspective, which is decidedly different than ours. Jesus said in Rev. 2:2, "I know thy works, and thy labor..." The Word of God delineates a decided difference between work and labor by definition. And as a result, we come to the conclusion that labor isn't really work at all but is the byproduct of the wrath of God hoisted upon sinful man; a punishment for the sin we were once found in as a consequence of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden detailed in Genesis chapter 3. But when we come into right relationship with God once again through Jesus Christ, our identity changes. We are no longer viewed as unrepentant sinners in the eyes of our righteous and holy God, but now we are "the righteousness of God" according to 2 Cor. 5:21, and "a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation" according to 1 Pet. 2:9.

As a result of our blood-bought righteousness through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, you have something else to do other than to labor the rest of your life. Instead, you have meaningful work to accomplish; not your work but God's work. And that work brings along with it the reward of God's rest and all the "more" - the "more abundant life" - that comes with it.
