Episode 682: Seablindness, from the Mother Country to her Children

    in Military

The “Five-Eyes Nations” is the intelligence-sharing partnership that for decades served as shorthand for the core of the Anglosphere; Great Britain, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Any quick look at the globe will tell you that, with slight considerations given to the USA and Canada, all these are island nations. They also share a history and baseline culture deeply connected to the sea.
For the vast majority of their histories, it was assumed the military leaders, politicians, and the general population understood that they were island nations and that their security and prosperity depended on a strong navy and civilian maritime commerce.
As we’ve seen with the recent events in the Red Sea where the once great Royal Navy could barely provide the HMS Diamond to the international effort, Australia was a no show, and no one even considered ships from Canada or New Zealand - what happened?
Focused primarily on the core of the issue with the Royal Navy, our guest for the full hour to discuss the scourge of seablindness will be Dr James WE Smith, the Laughton-Corbett Research Fellow in the Department of War Studies, King’s College London.
He completed his PhD in ‘War and Strategic Studies’ that focused on studying the organization of defense and defense unification in the UK and US and how that impacts strategy and strategic thought. This has complemented a broader research effort which has taken nearly fifteen years about the devaluation of sea, navies and maritime strategy in nations and strategic thought from seabed to space.

Lucid Libertarian w/ Lori-ann - Special Guest Captain Dan Hanley (911pilots.org)

    in Politics

Welcome to the Lucid Libertarian w/ Lori-ann Show with Special Guest Captain Dan Hanley, Director of 9/11 Pilot Whistleblowers!
Sundays 6-8PM PST Live + Bonus Hour!  Call in! New Number (563) 999-3485 - Press 1 to join!
Captain Dan Hanley served in the US Navy as an aviator with honors and distinction for 10 years and as a United Airlines pilot for 25 years. Over 35 years as a pilot, he flew 15 different aircraft accruing over 20,000 flight hours. He's certainly qualified to unequivocally state, without reservation or embarrassment, that even he could not have flown the 9/11 flight profiles, especially the Pentagon, and neither could unqualified alleged Muslim hijackers. As a United Airlines B-777 captain, he was illegally terminated by UA in violation of RICO (racketeering influenced corrupt organization) laws for speaking out about 9/11-related safety & security issues through collusion between UA senior management and the FAA. He fought his wrongful termination case for 5 years to no avail. His case was closed without reviewing any of his evidence nor interviewing his many witnesses. Dan's quest to expose the truth behind 9/11 has cost him dearly in his personal life, but he passionately continues the mission!

Close Up Radio Spotlights Consulting Auditor Jenniffer Wilson

    in US Government

Woodbridge, VA – Jenniffer Wilson is a well-respected employee of the federal government. Since 1989, she has worked for several government agencies with the primary responsibility of auditing. She has paid it forward by shifting her focus to training and mentoring other auditors.
“I am not a financial auditor for the IRS,” clarifies Jenniffer. “I am a performance auditor in the oversight community that helps to promote efficiency and effectiveness in agency programs and operations.”
“I have a lot of international experience combined with domestic experience, recalls Jenniffer. “The Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DODIG) is where I started my work. I then moved to the Government Accountability Office (GAO). The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) is where I temporarily stepped out of the audit world and became a certified project manager for information technology and got involved in major transformational initiatives. The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) is where I held positions of escalating responsibility, eventually becoming the senior representative in Afghanistan. The Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (SIGTARP) is where I became a board-certified senior executive. SIGTARP has to do with all the financial crisis money during the Great Recession. After, I moved to the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC). That had to do with the money allocated for COVID-19 relief. Since October of 2023, I have been back at the Government Accountability Office (GAO) but this time, with the Center for Audit Excellence.”
“I love being a public servant and serving the American people,” concludes Jenniffer. “I have found it very rewarding through having a passion for what I have been able to accomplish – protecting the taxpayer.”
