Opening day, in Major League Baseball, has come and gone. The excitement that lingers for the first pitch gets the fans excited about watching their favorite team. Baseball spans seven months with a 162 game schedule. Can you tell much after week one? Most teams have only played two opponents and have not even made it through the first round of their rotation. Some people will state that you can't win the World Series in April, but you can lose it. Getting off to a good start is something that every team hopes for, but the key is to maintain that success over the course of the summer. Teams try to avoid a slow start so they are not looking up at the division leaders and trying to play catch up in September. These early games may seem insignificant because of the long season, but what if your team misses the playoffs by one game, could they look back at the blown opportunity against a poor team in the first week of the season?
