The Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs will dual in the World Series, and one franchise will end their futility. The Indians had a chance, in 1997, to remove themselves from the longest drought list. However, the lost a heartbreaking seventh game. Edgar Renteria singled home the game winning run in the 11th inning, and the Indians World Series drought continued.

After three straight World Series appearances, from 1906 to 1908, and winning back to back titles in 1907 and 1908 the Cubs have not hoisted the pennant. From 1909 to 1945, the Cubs would have seven more chances to claim the pennant. However, it was heartbreak after heartbreak as they were 0-7 in these appearances. The past 61 years have only seen seven post season appearances, with four chances to get back to the World Series.

The players on the winning team will forever be embedded in the hearts of the fans. The players on the losing side will join a long list of players who couldn't seal the deal. Listen in and call the show.
