Karen Ingalls is a retired Registered Nurse with a Master's Degree in Human Development. Her nursing career includes experiences in hospice and the management of epilepsy and chronic pain.

For 20 years, Karen also ran her own entrepreneurial nursing service. "Kare 'N Touch" provided counseling, biofeedback, stress management, therapeutic massage and Therapeutic Touch on a sliding fee basis for a variety of clients.

Karen is a 5-year ovarian cancer survivor who is now dedicated to spreading the word about this lesser known disease. Her award-winning book, Outshine: An Ovarian Cancer Memoir, tells her inspiring story of being on the receiving end of nursing care and cancer treatment that ultimately saved her life.
