Due to Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and our commitment to keeping our artists and audiences safe, Shakespeare in Detroit will not host our April inebriated reading at our original, amazing venue, Wright & Co., instead we will host the reading online. Please make your favorite cocktail at home and tune-in live as our company of players reads William Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew here on our podcast!

Those of you who purchased tickets via Eventbrite will get a personalized video thank you message from a member of our company. The video will be emailed to you via a private YouTube link, just for you! But ALL are invited to listen in!

The event will include a pre-show introduction by our artistic director and will take place in our regular format with a narrator and our cast of players who will all introduce themselves when we go live. We'll then kick off the abbreviated reading of the comedy.

The arts are vulnerable during these times of uncertainty and we want to continue to make our work available, and connect with you while we wait to for the time to see you all, our amazing audience, again—in-person with drinks, of course!

In the meantime, we hope you will tune-in to this podcast during the originally slated time when we would have been together on Sunday, April 5, 2020. The reading will begin at 1 p.m. EST and run about 50-minutes with NO INTERMISSION.

This is a difficult time for arts organizations across the globe. And we ask that you consider a donation to Shakespeare in Detroit at this time to support our artists while we wait for word to return to our regularly scheduled programming.

Thank you for being here and tuning in!
