Soulcravers Radio With Singer/Songwriter Kudisan Kai

Kudisan Kai has created her own lane in alternative rock/dubstep/house music, turning it on its head with her new singles entitled, Set It Off and Step Into The Light, both produced by United Kingdom producer Headrocka. Formerly known as Natalie Jackson and former backing vocalist for Elton John (for six years), Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, Natalie Cole, Beck, and Jeffrey Osbourne, she has had an eclectic career, earning her enigmatic status. In addition to performing live with artists such as Sting, Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott and many others, her session/on-camera work ranges from ABC’s 2020 Academy Awards to the 2019 season of The Voice, Arsenia Hall’s Greatest Hits, Disney’s Dinosaurs, and 20th Century Fox’s Rio II, to recording with numerous artists including Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, Lita Ford, Taj Mahal featuring Ziggy Marley, to hearing her solo voice featured in the music of Salif Keita ‘s album entitled, Papa, which was the featured soundtrack of the Will Smith biopic, Ali. Her backing vocals alone also supported the opening song sung by Elton John in the Dreamworks hit animated film, The Road To El Dorado which she also performed in the soundtrack produced by Patrick Leonard. Her solo recording in the Christina Applegate film, Just Visiting, composed by John Powell is heard at the beginning of the film’s closing credits. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Voice from Howard University, Kudisan continued her graduate study at the Eastman School of Music. Included in her achievements during her college days is her Downbeat Magazine’s Best New Jazz Vocalist Award.
