Speak Life Radio ~ The Art of Conversation

Grealin C. Kimbrough is a husband and father of three beautiful kids before anything else.  Before beginning his transition into the field of structured private and public conversation Grealin spent nearly ten years in Law Enforcement at both the local and federal levels and prior to that time as an educator.  Grealin received his baccalaureate degree in Africana Studies from Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan, later receiving a Master of Public Administration degree.  Growing up in a family with two active duty military parents primarily in Spring Valley, Ca.  Grealin was presented with seeing and experiencing Gang culture and violence up close as a resident of less affluent city in San Diego County.  This confluence of Gang culture, Academic and historical understanding of origins of the causes, a firm background in the alternative positive history of people of the African Diaspora plus becoming a single parent as a senior in college all led into his entry in Law Enforcement.  The daily interactions as a Police Officer became the most important lab for learning the importance of communication in its various forms.  Expanding his lab to social media, Grealin merged all the lessons and experiences into a focused communication and discussion format he calls a “Parlee.”

-A Parlee and the crux of any conversation is “ an objective discussion  between qualified individuals without talking points, rhetoric with special animus towards intellectual dishonesty.”

-The art of conversation relies on having purpose in understanding of yourself but more importantly that of the person you are talking to.

-All conversation is strategic, why someone is doing something and what they want?  The question is whether or not you know the purpose of every conversation; keep that in mind.
