4 iPads and an Orchestra

"Like all boys growing up in the early sixties, I was fascinated by space exploration," said  Anthony Hose, conductor of the Stetson University Symphony Orchestra. "And, of course, I wanted to be an astronaut."

While it is not quite the same as floating among the stars, Hose did conduct the Stetson University Orchestra performing the American premiere of Voyager written by Warren Greveson, who was inspired by Voyager 1 and 2, two spacecrafts launched in 1977 on a grand tour of the solar system. Voyager is composed for four iPads and an orchestra, and accompanied by a film by Maurice Lock.

In this interview, Hose, Greveson and Lock talk about the music and the inspiration from 37 years of research collected and sent back to Earth by the two Voyager probes.
