Well, Jerry Smith can say he DOES! He joins us today to share unbelievable odds!
He was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, an incurable lung disease and told that I had six months to live. This diagnosis came after a life filled with tragedy, overcoming them, and ultimately finding happiness for the first time at age fifty-two. My life included my grandmother dying during childbirth, my mother born a deaf-mute and abandoned. Later she was raped, and I was born and abandoned. My Mother married, took me to live with her and her husband. He soon filed for divorce to make her give me away. So she had a friend drive me to the State Welfare office, with a note with my name, pinned to my shirt and told me to knock on the door and they drove away. I was four years old. I experienced rejection throughout my life.
