If you’re like most people on social media, your stream is probably filled with a litany of event-related hash-tags, promotional posts (Register Now & Save!) and other obnoxious, often intrusive tactics designed to build awareness and drive attendance to whatever event happens to be competing for a slot on the packed HR events calendar.

One of these events, #TalentNet Interactive, on March 8, part of the #SXSW lineup in Austin, TX, is coming up – and rather than just shamelessly plug this can’t miss experience, we thought we’d do so in the guise of thought leadership – like pretty much all content marketing.

Effective promotion through content is something that Lizzie Maldonado (@lizonomics) and Emily Jasper (@emilyjasper) know something about. After all, as agents with The Starr Conspiracy, standing out from the noise through creative campaigns is their business – and they’ll be sharing their secrets with the #TalentNet team as we preview (and promote) #TalentNet Interactive – but tastefully, of course.

Here are the questions we’ll be covering:

Q1. What are the essential elements of a successful event promotion campaign?

Q2. What are the biggest mistakes marketers make when promoting events online?

Q3. What tools or resources are the most effective for event marketing?

Q4. What events or conferences are getting it right when it comes to marketing?  Why?

Q5. Why is #TalentNet Interactive going to rock?  And what’s the line between tasteful and shameless promotion?
