Marie welcomes back Courtney Woods to the show to share her GoFundMe campaign, favorite books and movies. Courtney graduated from Michigan State University (MSU) with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science, with a Political Science Cognate and Community Governance and Advocacy Concentration, in addition to a Philosophy and Law Minor. Courtney worked with TRIO Student Support Services at MSU to support low income, first generation college students. As an undergraduate, Courtney served as a legislative intern with U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow representing Michigan, and later served as a legislative intern with the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Judiciary under ranking member Congressman John Conyers, Jr. Courtney is passionate about social justice and policy advocacy, particularly issues related to education, gun violence, and mass incarceration. Courtney is currently serving as Program Fellow with the Center for Public Interest Careers and supporting emerging student leaders. One book that Courtney is looking forward to reading is Lift off by Donovan Livingston. Listen to Donovan's inspirational commencement speech on his Linkedin page. Love Talk! with Marie?
