Workforce Partners: The VA's Community Employment Services for Homeless Vets

The VA's Homeless Veterans Community Employment Services (HVCES) program helps homeless veterans re-enter the workforce and is a valuable community partner for workforce development organizations.

The Veterans Health Administration's Homeless Veteran Community Employment Services program provides wraparound services to Veterans exiting homelessness that enable them to successfully connect with businesses and return to employment. "This unique population is highly motivated and actually has a varied skill set from which employers can benefit," shared Dr. Carma Heitzmann, Director of VA's HVCES program.
