Dr. Jason Stein and Eric Komoroff talk with guest, Jon Kitamura, on the subject. Jon is a full-time English Professor at College of San Mateo, a community college in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he teaches developmental and transfer level composition and literature courses. He is an active faculty participant in CSM's award winning Writing in the End Zone program, a learning community which blends English composition and football and which targets CSM's most at-risk population, African American and Pacific Islander males. In addition, he is a regular instructor at Patten College's Prison University Program, located at San Quentin State Prison. He has a Master's Degree in English Literature as well as a Certificate in Teaching Post-Secondary English Composition in Two Year Colleges and a Certificate in Teaching Post-Secondary Reading. Jon Kitamura has been teaching English post-secondary institutions for 6 years.
