What defines leadership? Some define leadership as the power to influence people to move in a direction that you believe in your heart is a good direction. It is also the ability to balance pressure and support. Where is women leadership in a bad economy? Vanessa Allen a seasoned Human Resource veteran asked her self that question and in 2006 when she felt that the economic climate could possible take a turn. Allen specialized in Talent Management, Staffing and Recruiting, Leadership and Career Development and it became apparent to her that organizations have a tendency to place and label employees and placed them to benefit the bottom line profit. The corporations never took in to consideration the employee's innovation and talents, which could potentially yield a win-win scenario for both parties. With many of these same companies laying individuals off in droves many talented women are now looking to leverage their talent. With questions like how can I advance ourselves in a crazy climate like this? Phenomenal Women's Alliance, Inc. (PWA) has the answer and challenges women from all walks of life and socioeconomic platforms-to embrace their talent and purpose, cultivate their talent, and to become authentic. Join Dr. Elisa our Licensed Clinician and founder of PD Consultants, Minal Bopiah, journalist and founder of Brevity and Wit and Sky LaRose for a conversation on women and leadership. If you would like to continue the conversation after the show, Phenomenal Women’s Alliance will host their 4th Annual Leadership Awards Luncheon, Saturday, April 24, 2010, at The Westin Tyson’s Corner in Falls Church, VA. It our shameless plug because our co-author Candace Sandy, Sky LaRose and contributor Revrend Francyne Eliison will be attending.
