Wilmer- Hutchins High School star basketball player Troy Causey Jr., died after being involved in a fight with a roommate. However, it was initially reported that Causey's had been involved in an altercation with two unknown men who fled on foot after the fight. Early reports also stated that the strangers had left Causey in the middle of the street when he fell to the concrete after being struck by one of the strangers. Police have since made an arrest in this case and the person charged with first degree murder in Causey's death was Causey's roommate and former rival James Madison High School star basketball player Jonathan Turner. Turner led the Madison Trojans to 2013 and 2014 3A championships. Since Causey's death and Turner's arrest top DISD athletic officials have been fired in connection with Causey's death and UIL rule violations . A total of 15 DISD employees have been fired as a result of this recruiting scandal. DISD Supt. Mike Miles said the terminations should send a message that athletics violations won't be condoned.

Troy Causey's mother Tammy Simpson will be our guest.
