Photographer, John Thomas Grant, has published his debut book Final Thoughts: Eternal Beauty in Stone. This book is packed with 156 pages of high quality, beautiful color images taken in the historical cemeteries of the northeastern United States and is a story of life and death in America as told through beautiful cemetery art photography accompanied by meaningful epitaphs from cemeteries up to 300 years old.

View 68 cemeteries in 224 beautiful photographs that breathe life into existence of those who have passed before us, and who are now enshrined for eternity in landscaped paradises.

John wasn’t born with a camera around his neck or a cemetery in his backyard. Ten years ago, he was neither a photographer nor did he possess a passion for or enjoyment of cemeteries. John’s art evolved in a search for his family roots; it was genealogy that brought him to the cemetery. Before the serendipitous discovery of peace & sublime tranquility, John was blowing his brains out in the music business. Nearly 30 years of head banging assaults on his nerves was bled before he retired in the mid-90’s. From there, it was not too long after the inspiration struck a second time. This time, John hoped for greater amity with his spirit. So far – it’s working out very well for him.
