Arnell is playing guitar and singing those noteworthy high notes for Raydio. Arnell is an original and founding member of the band Raydio. His father Mike Hanks is the founder of Northern Soul Movement & the Motown rival record label, D-Town Record’s. Arnell started touring the nation at age 10 with his family band the Carmichael Movement. Carmichael joined Raydio in 1977 and would go on to enjoy the success of 4 Gold Records during the time frame of 1978 through 1982 including a platinum record for his contributions. Arnell would go on to receive accolades for what some consider his biggest success contributing vocals with Raydio member Ray Parker Jr., on the Grammy Winning Song Ghostbusters. After Ghostbusters, Carmichael went on a hiatus from the music business becoming successful in I.T. during the Tech Boom of the late 80s and early 90s. In the early 2000’s Carmichael got back into music touring, playing guitar and singing with the Blackbyrds Feat Allen Barnes. As a result of renewed interest in the band Raydio because of the documentary that aired on television, Carmichael decided to reactivate Raydio.
