Lise Lund VMD is a licensed and practicing veterinarian (Time Peace Equine, Inc. Millville, PA). Her career is the culmination of a lifetime of passionate interest in animals and particularly all things horses. Born in suburban Philadelphia in 1958, she didn't acquire the professional degree (University of Pennsylvania) until 2000, at the age of forty. Dr. Lund's love of horses, however, was there from the beginning. Lise began taking Hunt Seat riding lessons at the age of six. Her family moved to rural Muncy, PA in 1969. She continued to ride on borrowed horses and took lessons when she could find someone who taught riding. She bought her first horse (a yearling Appaloosa) at the age of sixteen, mucking stalls to pay for his board, and beginning her career as a trainer in raising Zipper and starting him under saddle as well as in harness. A lifetime of pleasure and sport riding and driving in the Pennsylvania hills and beyond ensued. And he became her mount for open showing in multiple disciplines--everything from Hunters to Western Pleasure, Barrels and Keyhole to Driving.
Zipper went to college with Lise (B.A. Biology, Oberlin College 1981). After her undergraduate degree Lise's competition interests shifted to Dressage and Eventing. She established her first home in Montgomery,PA where she built a barn apartment to house herself and her cats while beginning her Appaloosa Sporthorse breeding program with the birth of her stallion Watch Me Fly (aka "Wings").
