Despite calls from President Trump to increase the latest stimulus checks from $600 to $2000--and Dems (naturally) pushing for it--it seems GOP Senators won't go for it. Sanit? Maybe. Then again, they are looking to override the President's veto of the Defense spending bill, and they all continue to fight over protections/exemptions for social media and internet purveyors of...er..."misinformation". The college basketball season continues on, for the most part, although some programs are postponing or cancelling games, and a few have even shut it down for the season. The B1G continues to be a brutal slugfest wherein teams keep beating higher-ranked teams. As college football winds down, several bowl games were taken off the table before selection ever began, others while not quite solidified in their matchups, and this week, a couple of the games were actually cancelled. The cancellations involved $EC teams, and one directly affected me, as the Hawkeyes appearance against Missouri, in the Music City Bowl, was cancelled due to COVID issues. But in this particular case, should Missouri have even accepted the berth, given their COVID protocols, or more accurately, the lack of protocols? All this and more, 5:30pmET, Wed. 12/30/2020.
