Tune in to this first Black Music Month 2020 edition of "Gullah/Geechee Riddim Radio" focused on protest. Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) shares the words she sent out to the word in the wake of the global protest against racial injustice and death at the hands of the police. Multiple areas of the Gullah/Geechee Nation held protests due to the death of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor. These Black people were all murdered by white racists some of whom work in the police forces in their cities. This sparked protests in the streets that led to rioting and looting. Uprisings for justice have always had others try to distract and detract from the issue at hand-lynching. The death of Black people has to end and the sounds of protests are calling for that across the globe.
