National bilingual speaker, breast cancer survivor, and author of Finding Hope for Your Journey through Breast Cancer, Yvonne Ortega will interview Liz Furman. Liz Furman is an author, artist, encourager, mentor, teacher, and speaker. Her most important job, however, is mothering her three teen-aged sons and supporting her husband, an Appelate Court Judge. All of whom give her much fodder for her amusing speaking topics—with their permission, of course. Liz speaks at women's retreats, Mothers of Preschoolers, and other women's events. She also teaches at writing conferences and caregiver conferences. She wrote her first book, Traditions & Recipes That Say WELCOME HOME All Year 'Round, to encourage families to start traditions and to celebrate with each other the seasons of the year. How to Plan a Funeral: and Other Things You Need to Know When a Loved One Dies came about when her husband's father passed away, and Liz took on the task of planning the memorial service for the family. She found no books to aid her at the bookstore. Liz believes everyone should have help for such an arduous task. She spent much of the last two years researching the topic and compiled the information into her latest book. While the topic is sad, the book is not. Encouragement and hope abound in this book. Liz Furman and her family live in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Her mother-in-law shares their mountain home with them.
