Lare power outage hits the City of Riverside

The City of Riverside had been hit by a widespread-power outage.

Hundreds, possibly thousands of people will need to reset their alarm clocks Saturday morning. A strong storm cell moved over the Riverside area bringing heavy rain, lightning and thunder.

At 2:56 a.m. and again at 2:57 a.m. lights flickered in the Canyon Crest area.  By 3:01 Riverside Public Utilities confirmed that the bad weather had caused a widespread loss of electricity within the city.

Emergency crews have been dispatched repair the damage, however RPU has not said exactly what areas have been left in the dark.
