On today's NativeTalk.net radio podcast, Cliff & Brandon start with an animal pile including giving guns to toddlers (what could go wrong?) for hunting purposes, and getting a DUI for driving a horse. Then in the second segment we discuss discrimination against American Indians, which is always more prevalent and problematic in areas with a greater concentration of Natives.
The children going to Massena high school in New York state have a plan to combat this however; they have started a club for members of their tribe to come together and talk about issues affecting them, as well as a sort of planning commitee on how they can affect change in the general school population and help to dispell hurtful stereotypes and assert themselves as individuals. You can listen to the details and join the discussion by downloading today's audio file directly.
We'll be back next week with more stimulating Native Talk Radio, available online at nativetalk.net
