RON THOMAS Sportswriter, Director of Morehouse College Journalism and Sport Program

On the show today is Hamza Said Catlett former player at Notre Dame in the '60s. Award-winning sportswriter and author Ron Thomas is also a guest on This Week In College Basketball today. Thomas wrote They Cleared The Lane, a best-selling book about black pioneers in the NBA. He covered professional sports for years for USA Today and other newspapers. Recently he teamed with Spike Lee to start the journalism and sport degree program at Morehouse College in Atlanta. He and Spike organized the ESPN Town Hall Meeting held in honor of Dr Martin Luther King Jr and aired live to a national audience on ESPN Friday, Jan 14. The show was hosted by ESPN's Bob Ley and Robin Roberts of ABC. It was done ar Dr King's historic Ebenzer Baptist Church in Atlanta.
